Paradise Valley Arizona homes![]() Paradise Valley is named for its gorgeous landscape and abundance of spring wildflowers. Paradise Valley is an affluent suburb situated just outside of Scottsdale in Maricopa County, Arizona. Paradise Valley is home to approximately 14,000 residents, the town consists primarily of large residential Homes For Sale properties, sprawling resorts and a few local businesses. Residents appreciate their exclusive lifestyle, the town's zoning restrictions discourage large businesses. The community is known for its fine dining, tennis facilities and golf courses. Paradise Valley is just 4 miles west of downtown Scottsdale and 13 miles northeast of downtown Phoenix. Thanks to Paradise Valley's proximity to these larger cities, residents and visitors can enjoy a wide range of cultural and entertainment activities. Scottsdale in particular is a real premier travel destination, offering exclusive spa treatments, horseback riding, the Paradise Valley Scenic Drive and Camelback offer amazing views of the city. One of the better-known climbs in Echo Canyon, The Monk, is located on the northwest side of Camelback Mountain and provides a challenge even to experienced climbers. Students in grades K-12 attend schools of the Scottsdale Unified School District, which operates several schools in Paradise Valley. The prestigious Arizona State University is also in close proximity. The Paradise Valley real estate varies, offering everything from modest single-family homes for sale and charming condos and townhouses to stunning estate properties featuring scenic views and golf course frontage. The town of Paradise Valley encompasses approximately 16 square miles. Temperatures can average at 106º in the summer and approximately 44º in the winter. Camelback Mountain supplies the town with many of its well-known scenic views. With red rocks jutting up to an elevation of 2,704 feet, the mountain's summit is striking. The Echo Canyon Recreational Area, which is part of Camelback, attracts more than 300,000 hikers and climbers each year. There are a variety of activities in and around Paradise Valley to enjoy. High-end shoppers may wish to visit one of several major retail centers in Scottsdale, including the Borgata, Fashion Square, Old Town Scottsdale, the Fifth Avenue Shops or the Biltmore Fashion Park. Art enthusiasts will want to check out live theater performances at the Herberger Theater and the art collections at the Heard Museum and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. The Scottsdale Museum's collection includes more than 1,900 paintings, photographs, sculptures, architectural renderings and other items. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 14,558. Despite the town's relatively small area and population compared to other cities in the Phoenix metropolitan area, Paradise Valley is home to twelve resorts, making it one of Arizona's premiere tourist destinations. It has prime real estate, with a median home price at $1.5 million[1], with many exceeding $5 million and some over $15 million. It should not be confused with the neighborhood in northeast Phoenix of the same name. For instance, Paradise Valley Community College, Paradise Valley High School, Paradise Valley Hospital, Paradise Valley Mall, and Paradise Valley Golf Course are all located several miles to the north, in Phoenix - a considerable distance from the town that actually bears their name. Paradise Valley is often considered to be an extension of Scottsdale, another area with a wealthy reputation. Residents attend schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District. There is a Paradise Valley Unified School District, and it is one of the largest in the state, though like many other institutions with Paradise Valley's name, it operates in Phoenix. The town of Paradise Valley was incorporated in May of 1961. It encompasses an area of 16.5 square miles. The Town is exclusively zoned for single family residential use. The majority of the Town is zoned for one acre lots with one house per lot. No multiple housing units or common walls are permitted. Paradise Valley is located between Phoenix and Scottsdale, separated by the Famous Camelback Mountain. Paradise Valley is home to many famous resorts, fine dinning, luxury homes and fabulous shopping. The Town's population in 2000 was 13,664. The Town collects no property taxes from residents. The Town is not a full service community. Residents must contract separately for solid waste removal, fire protection, and water service.
